Why I started this

I’ve always been a little obsessed with finding the right card — the one that actually sounds like me.

One day, a close friend (you know who you are) made me a card with her daughter. It was simple, personal, and clearly made with love — and I remember thinking, I love to draw… and I LOVE sending cards… why don’t I try making my own?

So I did.

I started making cards just for friends and family and kept at it for about two years, with no plan to sell them. During that time, friends kept saying,
“You should sell these — they’re so you. Inappropriately appropriate.”
Hence the name. (Thanks, J the bartender. You know who you are.)

Which I honestly assumed was just because they love me.

Eventually I thought, what the heck — let me try.

Daisy & Poe are my dogs and constant companions while I’m drawing these cards. Most designs are created with them nearby, supervising.

They approve every card.
Emotionally. Not legally. 

All my lovey-dovey cards are made with David in mind.
The ones that aren’t lovey-dovey?
Also David.

David is my boo.
